We are very proud that Mission Training was the first privately operated training centre to be approved to deliver the new S.I.A. required courses in Kent. We were delivering the previously required course, known as the Westminster training scheme, with great popularity and success.

 

At the time of the legally required enforcement date for the Security Industry Authority, there was a huge amount of concern from individuals working in the industry, also from companies employing security staff (either directly or from private security companies) and the press were reporting from all kinds of angles.

 

Negative reports were bombarding the security industry and many individuals were very concerned as to their future employment. Mission Training, and the S.I.A, conducted a joint press release day to deliver a clear message to the general public. The interviews went out on BBC News, Meridian News, BBC Radio 2, various local radio stations and numerous newspapers. The interviews were conducted at our training centre in Canterbury. Tony Smith was also interviewed by Radio Kent, the message was clear, attempting to reassure individuals seeking answers to unanswered questions on the very slow processing of their licence applications by the S.I.A.

 

The B.I.I.A B. awarding body have a grading system for training centres. We were given a Grade 1 listed centre, which is the highest of the grading. This is based on our high levels of professionalism, from both the delivery of the structured courses and also the administration side of our centre; which makes every effort to meet our trainee's needs.

 

We work closely with job centres and other funding programmes to assist individuals to receive back to work training or re settlement courses.

 

Early in 2009, we were approved to deliver training to the NHS in specific Conflict Resolution training. This particular training is a common requirement for many individuals, especially those working in the nursing and care industry.

 

We recognise the need for specialist training. At our specialised training facilities in the Czech republic we deliver Close protection, firearms and weapons training, and evasive driving techniques. The courses are delivered by ex special forces. The courses are proving to be extremely popular and very rewarding.
